Title 5. BUSINESS TAXES, LICENSES AND REGULATIONS |
Chapter 5.24. STREET VENDORS |
§ 5.24.040. Permit application—Review and investigation.
(a)
An application shall be reviewed and investigated by the community development director and the chief of police. The investigation shall take into consideration the nature of the proposed vending activity, the location, and any law-enforcement problems issuance of the permit might tend to create.
(b)
The community development director and the chief of police may deny a permit if, in their opinions, the vending activity will be located and operated in such a manner as to tend to cause law-enforcement problems or create a public nuisance, or where granting of the permit would not be compatible with the public health, safety, and welfare. The community development director and the chief of police shall deny the permit if there is currently due but not yet paid a license tax under Chapter 5.04 of this code.
(c)
The community development director and the chief of police may impose reasonable conditions relating to the location and operation of the proposed vending activity as they deem appropriate.
